civic DX to lx cluster swap issue

ii seen the older cluster threads but i need the real answer.

i picked up an lx cluster (02) and my current broken cluster dx (01) temp gauge is broken...

i swapped everything... everything is fine but thre settings from the new lx cluster is all here... the odo says 285 000 km when i have 120 000... what do i do? i thought the computer would put the odo backl where it was... call dealer? help please

LOL. Where did you see that it would automatically change the mileage? I have NEVER heard of that. It isn't stored in the ECU...

Tampering with an odometer is a federal offense weather under good intentions or not. Only way around it is to get a hold of a speedometer shop and have them do it. They have documents that you sign proving that you aren't being shady. That is your only way to do it legally.

conclusion was the Stealership gave me a sticker to put in my doorjamb and that was the end of it... they wanted $100 or 1 hour of labor to replace the cluster with 5 screws... so i just installed the sticker... so far so good!
