1996 Civic DX...Is this a good deal?

Hey guys,
I'm brand new to this site so bear with me. So I'm on the search for a 96-00 civic hatchback, so far I've found a 1996 Honda Civic DX. This car has 116,000 miles on it and very little rust (that I can see). The dealer is asking $3500 for it, but I saw on Kelley Blue Book that it would be around $2700. From what I can tell the only reason the price is jacked up is because there are some aftermarket rims on it. So I'm just posting this on here to find out if its actually a good deal or not. tell them if they jacked the price up because of the rims then for them to keep those rims and put on some donuts for you and lower it another $1000 along with a new ignition cover piece.

yeah, that missing column cover is a red flag for me. Ignition problems recently fixed? theft recovery? can't see any reason for it to be gone, ESPECIALLY on a car at a dealership.

Project? Looks stock to me, besides the wheels...


I would pass on the simple fact that the whole rear end has been repainted. Poorly at that. Everything from the doors back is a different shade.

its got good milage for the year. ask them what happen to the steering collum cover. run a car fox on it.

it has exhaust on it, who knows what else they did. With all the negative on this car i would not buy this, or even look at it. But you can look up carfax VIN for free now if your still interested with all the negative on this car.

defiantly do not buy this car for all the reasons listed above its missing things its been repainted badly there is some kind of reason that piece is missing. all of which fails in comparison to the fact that its overpriced. it would be overpriced even if it was in good condition which it isnt stay away from it.
