With it having been done reciently, it's odd that it would blow. It's not something that just happens in these cars, it kind of leads up to it. Generally they will go hundreds of thousands of miles on a head gasket.

Either way, Ron is correct, a blown head gasket is almost the only thing to cause that.

I don't think it's the head gasket you replaced. That's the one between the head and the block which requires you to remove the entire top half of the motor.

Is this the one you replaced?
i was at work when my dad started on this, when i came back he had taken the top part off, and he told me that he replased the gaskets and the head :/ this was the only part i wasnt there fore but i did buy the parts :/ and a four pack for my dad ;)

so then...which gasket did i blow? and if i replace it...will my car run well again without turning off on me?

and i agree spade, it is incredibly weird if the gasket that was replaced is what blew. ive taken good care of the car and i checked daily because i knew that its something that happens over time if you dont maintain you car; i also havent driven that far for this to happen. :/

If the head gasket originally blew because the engine overheated or the engine overheated because the head gasket blew, then the head and block could be warped. Therefore, if the head and block mating surfaces were not checked for warping with a precision straightedge before installing the new head gasket, then that would be one way to explain why it failed so soon. Other possibilities are that a poor quality head gasket was used or it was not installed correctly, for example new head bolts were not used or they were not properly torqued.

:/ how much would it cost to have this all checked and fixed? the warping of course

If you can remove the head yourself, all you need to buy or borrow is a precision straightedge. If the head and block are both warped, save yourself a lot of headaches and just buy a replacement engine. In general, after Civic aluminum engines severely overheat, they're toast.

I would honestly suggest talking to your dad at this point and see what he wants to do.

Before you consider doing an engine swap to achieve 500 HP, do a lot of homework because it will be a significant financial investment. Do you have thousands of dollars laying around?

i dont have thousands lying around, but thankfully i have an ,ok paid job which allows me to make enough to do the swap+mods but it will be durring the course of this year and if i dont waste time and money it will take half a year to finish everything

From where you are now, you have a big learning curve ahead of you if you are serious about 500 HP. Do a lot of reading before you buy anything. There's a ton of information posted in many forums that will benefit you. Make use of these resources to avoid re-inventing the wheel and making many mistakes.
