By creating duplicate/multiple threads that contain different information about your problem, you create confusion and waste member's time. This is considered bad etiquette on a public forum.

and im going to try cleaning that thermostat ground
Also check the ignition switch.

and check the starter
Are you checking the starter because you have a no-crank problem? If the starter always cranks the engine when the key is turned to ON(III), then there's no need to test the starter.

and as for pulling the codes I'm waiting on my brother in law to let me borrow his
Borrow what? Have you clicked the Codes link in my signature? You can't use a code reader on an 5th generation OBD1 CIvic. Please carefully read what members post in your thread.

Only post again after you have completed the above tasks.

The next time the CEL turns on and stays on while driving, pull to the side of the road and leave the engine running while you jump the service connector. This way you'll retrieve the CEL code.

The blinking SRS light indicates a problem in the airbag system. Like the CEL, the SRS blinks a trouble code when the service connector is jumped.

The next thing you need to do is to buy or borrow a multimeter so that you can test the ignition switch:

Well I just took a look at the starter and one of the connections to the solenoid is really rusted and dirty would that be a reason for the hard starting

I reset the computer and its starting like nothing now I'm going for a drive see how it feels

What were the test results? Which of the tests failed?

You need to buy the electrical part of the ignition switch. It costs about $50 on eBay.

OK got the cel code it was blinking fast 8 times and on that chart it said topdeadcenter sensor so just change that out

OK so how do I test the tdc connection that goes to the ecm
