Hey guys, i'm new here on this forum and have an opritunity to buy a 2006 Civic Si for $10200 with 116k miles on it. It has been taken care of and is in very good condition with no accidents or damage whatsoever. Do you guys think that this is a good idea? I need a car that i will be able to drive every day and that i can depend on. Tell me what you think! Thanks!

Look at it this way, I daily drive and beat to s*** on the track a 99 Gs-R and I just rolled over 160k. I drive 5 hours, one way, race all day, then drive home without being stranded. Honda makes great engines :thumbs up

Just be sure to test drive the car, crossover Vtec, look over the engine for leaks or anything else that may catch your eye

116k miles could be a ton of miles or nothing at all. If it was somebody's first car (like bought for a 16 year old), I wouldn't buy it for any price. Adult owned, go for it.

It depends 100% on how it was taken care of. These things can run for ever if treated right.

Take it for what it's worth, but we have a trade in at one of our dealerships that has 102k on the odometer and they are asking $12000 for it. Comparing to that the one you want for almost $2000 less, sounds like a good deal to me.

It's not just kids that abuse cars. I'm 25 years old and I would never buy this car from myself

lmao :like:

Like lethal said, it all depends on how well the car was maintained. I'm about to roll over 234k on my 99 ex. Stock motor and transmission. I've just kept up on maintenance, fix things when they break...no waiting, change the oil and filter every 3-5k (I aim for 3 but usually during the winter I go a little longer since I hate the cold lol), etc. Not sure how much of a difference it's made but the car has also only seen Mobil 1 fully synthetic since the day it came off the lot. I saw the inside of my motor 2 years ago and it is ridiculously clean. No sludge whatsoever and hardly stained.
