New to Honda!!

Hi everyone,

Just bought my second car, gone from a shitty ford fiesta to my 2001 Honda civic 1.6 SE sport. Thought I would join a forum to help me out as I plan to tune the car and have a play around, I was planning to get a type R but with me being 17 I really cant afford the insurance as I'm already paying£4700!!!!

I would like to makes the car look the part e.i alloys and possibly a type R body kit with a better sounding exhaust.
Soon I would like to make it faster but not tell my insurance so doing things like changing pistons and rods things like this so I will be posting updates of my car as I go along.

All recommendations are welcome because I'm new to the Honda world!

civics very commonly get a good bit of power and response from upgrading electrical and ignition. plugs, wires, upgraded cap and rotor kit. intake and exhaust (mufflers excluded) upgrades give a lot of power compared to the bigger engines, but can usually cause problems if you have a lot of old parts, so I would suggest replacing the old stuff first. just do a lot of research before you upgrade any big parts and know the typical issues with these upgrades. good luck and post pics if ya can.

So you're telling me... That even though I have an accel distributor cap and rotor, and ngk plugs and wires, that my car DOESN'T have 350 horsepower?
