I still really appreciate strong family values, and people who marry young (who are truly in love), and stay married. I have friends who married young (some at 18), who are still married and very much in love. It's always good to see that, considering our parents paved the way for the divorce craze.

Everyone I know who married young are divorced, or extremely unhappy. A couple we're friends with have been together since like the 5th grade - I sh*t you not. They got married 2 years ago and they're in their mid 20s now. While they say they're happy as hell and are now expecting their first child, every time we're around them they call each other the most horrible names, say mean things, and treat each other like sh*t.
I just don't understand couples that fight. My partner and I have had TWO pressing arguments the entire time we've been together. We never say mean things, and we always try to stay as calm as possible and talk it all out. We both have short fuses though, so we know to leave each other alone until we're cooled down first.
Everyone is seriously in awe of how happy we always are. I dunno what it is, but this is how I saw my own parents too.

And yeah my boyfriend and I have yelled at each other to calm down when we're stressing and freaking out, but never at each other. We help each other a lot and talk through our conflicts. It's really refreshing.

It really puts other things in perspective, once you've found someone you don't fight with, and you can work through anything and still have a fantastic, loving time. It's pretty empowering to me, knowing I'm part of a happy, very commited "team".

It's so bizarre wearing my biggest heels with Matt and we see eye to eye.
