I raced and rode dirtbikes since i was about 5. Never really been into street bikes. My dad rode harleys his whole life but had a terrible wreck on one when i was in 8th grade. Swore i would never ride a streetbike after that. Buuut i really wanna build a bobber one of these years just for kicks.

And i also rode bmx and a lot of skateparks on a bike. Not sure what kind of bike u were talking about but i figured motorcycle since u have been talking about them a lot lol
Yeah I was meaning motorcycles. Sorry to hear about your fathers accident. Cool that you were into dirt bikes and BMX, never took you for that type :P

Then again, can't judge someone over a computer.

Another off topic random question just popped into my head. When I was a kid my father would build me wooden ramps to skate or bike off of. With your welding skills you could make some wicked handrails/ ramps. Ever build anything for the kids?

s**t no. Kids nowadays are pussies lol. They hardly want to go outside let alone jump a bike or anything.

I was outside riding my old gt bump(i would love to upgrade my bike, but it works for the amount of riding i do nowadays) and the neighbor kids were all out riding their bikes. I always tell them to bunny hop or try to jump something and they are always telling me they cant do that or thats too hard. I hate hearing people say that they cant do certain things. It drives me nuts. Im a firm believer in that u can do whatever u want. So i pull my bike out and start bunnyhoppin 180's and foot planting the curb and hopping on and off the trailer and grinding this mean ass ledge by my house and these kids are blown away like i should be on the xgames or some s**t.

I try to explain how many times i had wrecked by their age and it scares them. Told em its part of learning. U gotta fall and get back up. You dont learn without mistakes. But they dont care. They want everything to come easy and dont wanna work for anything.

I woulf love to build a rail ir something but it wouldnt get used. Its pretty sad.

Damn, that is pretty sad. I know this is getting so off topic but since you don't have any video games in the house, what in the hell do the kids do for fun? :O

This was me at 12 years old.

I've got scars all up and down me, and I've broken plenty of bones, but I wouldn't change a thing. Because I can do some wicked s**t on a skateboard

They still ride their bikes and skateboards but most of the kids have cellphones and s**t. They dont care to jump or get hurt or anything. They complain its hot and s**t like that. Idk. This world is f**ked.

So i got a bunch of work done yesterday. Took me a bit to get motivated but after i did it was balls to the wall.

Started by cutting 6" out of the stock thunderbird subframe for the independent rear suspension setup.

Then i tacked it back together.

Then i threw it up on the rear frame rails.

Cut down my stock lugs for my rear adapters to go from 5x120 to 5x114.3

Then i had the wife help me put on the wheels.

Threw on a bedside to check for center of wheel arch and clearance.

Plated in the ends from the stock upper arm to make tubular arms for the rear.

I took an extra inch out of each arm to get more clearance on the bedsides. This is what i ended up with.

When i get off work today im going to see if any of the offroad shops in town have any precut tabs and endlinks so i dont have to order everything. Then i should be able to get everything mounted in the rear and get rid of that ugly subframe.

Do work son!

Not gonna lie though it takes me a minute to really take in what you're doing here. Far from my level of experience. I can still appreciate the work though. Lovin' it!

Im putting in an independent rear and getting rid of all of the stock ugliness of the subframe and the control arms.

All to get camber in the rear and a 5 lug conversion...

Thanks. Going to try and keep the front and rear camber right about the same!

Looking good mon :thumbs up

What are you going to do for drive axle replacements?
Eventually i will have custom axles made but for right now i will be chopping them down and sleeving them until i know everything is going to work properly.

Too many hiccups. Starting to get super stressed
Just gotta stay relaxed and work on 1 thing at a time. Get that thing done, move to the next. Blow some black smoke from the Cummins onto a Prius to calm your nerves and stop doing stuff by yourself when it requires 2 people ;) lol. You'll get it done in plenty of time. I have faith.
