I'm pretty sure they switched to the Em2 body style in 2001, so assuming they did, this guys doesn't even know what year his car really is..

Moved out of the tech section as this isn't a technical question.

Ask him to send you a picture of the title and you'll find out what year it is. For miles that low I don't think it's a bad price. At least not for my area.

It's likely a 00, as that's the last year they did this body style. That car is worth $3000 with that mileage.

Call him and ask him to read the title off on the phone. Wait for the "OOooooohhhhh.. i was wrong" part. lol

I agree with the others. Too much for that

Kbb is terrible for checking values. They are way off. If they weren't insurance companies would use them to judge prices. Better to search craigslist, auto trader, etc.to see the market value of the other comparable civics in your area.

That might be true to some degree but I would still never pay over KBB.

maybe i should have added never willfully pay what the car is worth without trying to get him to drop price
my si blue booked at 4800 with 89k i paid a 3,600.just saying its a good refrence.I would not pay blue book prices either.
also i wouldnt go though craigslist adds cause they overprice everything knowing you are gonna try to talk them down.

That's a stupid way to look at it. Obviously try to bargain if you can, but don't be that schmuck that comes in $1,300 lower than asking price on a car that's already well priced.
Pretty much everything I post sells for my asking price. Someone lowballs me, I 'lol' and move on with my life. Idk why you guys feel the need to inflate the price on everything because you're gonna be talked down, it's stupid

Lol. Good luck with that. Kbb is notorious for being minimum $2k under real world value on most cars over say mid 90s. The higher the value of the car the worse their prices get. You would be better to use NADA even though they are a joke as well.

Like I said there is a reason insurance company's don't base the value of a vehicle off kbb.
