great update! It looks like the teeth on your flywheel are pretty tore up. If hadn't already had retapped, I would have suggested a new flywheel

Thanks man!

That photo isn't great. The teeth aren't actually in that bad of condition.

Nice updates Reed, glad to see you back on your thread. Quick question! Im thinking about using grade 8.8 bolts for my motor mounts too but with an H22a engine. I think grade 8.8 bolts should be safe to use them on my mounts right??

Thanks man! It's good to be home and working on my car again. You'll be fine with 8.8. That is the grade of the hardware my hasports came with. If you are looking for some locally, I think Lowe's and Home Depot carry it.

Hi there,

I've been in your shoes, I was 17 last year when I sort of joined the "Honda scene" (i got the car at 16, but i didn't look into it until a year later). Just a little tip or noticed thing, most people are friendly, but you'll get the occasional butthead.

Anyway, back to the car
I've learned, especially as a high school student. I would strongly suggest primarily focusing on suspension. The engine will come with time, as there is FAR more to engine swap and the possibilities than there are with suspension (well, i guess you have brands vs brands and coils vs springs, but, you'll understand eventually) Craigslist is a great tool ,along with the junkyard. Open up some items you might not want anymore for trade, maybe you can pick up some springs or decent coil overs. Find some rims you like, lower the car (whether you want a clean drop or you become one of the Hellaflush and Stance kids is up to you) and then worry about the engine. Suspension can be very simple if you are only looking for a clean, 1.5 ~ or so drop. Wheels with tires are readily available on CL, and from there, The stock engine shouldn't be to unbearable.

If you've got any questions, feel free to ask, I remember how much crap I got when I was joining these sites.

Damn...Didn't even realize this was a two year old thread...lolololololol
Reading>you

And I'll be a butt head for Reed, he's already way on top of this build so maybe before you drop "words of wisdom" after only being and enthusiast for a year you should know what your talking about first. His car is well on its way dood.

No worries, you aren't the hold up. I'm still looking for the parts that go on the front shocks. I can't wait to get my parts back!
