Only think I feel myself lacking is a sense of style I guess. I'm 5'11 and somewhere between 140-145. I just got into the vneck which I find people dig, but as far as that I'm stuck. Shoes I usually wear some slip on dc style shoes (they are comfortable) and pants is either some light color plaid design or dark boot cut jeans.

Usually there is no thought put into what I wear, I just throw s**t on and try not to clash colors. Seriously, it's always hard for me to decide what to wear. Any input would be great. (Links to s**t would be awesome as well.)

I got one for you. There's this girl that I became friends with about 2 months ago we exchanged numbers and hung out a few times as friends. But now I've realized that I like her as more than a friend and I'm not sure how to approach it because I don't want to make it awkward between the two of us.

well its time to be a man. this is always the problem young men face when meeting someone they are interested in sleeping with. sorry to say for you, but there is a very good chance that you will never sleep with her. how much do you value her company now? and how honest are you with her(im assuming not at all, seeing as you have yet to develop feeling and not yet told her)? two months is new enough of a friendship that you can try to make the jump, but know that if she has not made it clear by now, she is most likely only interested in a friendship. i have had many girls that i would love to be with show me no interest, its an odd feeling, but f**k, just keep being their friend, its a huge complement to them to know you think that they are sexy enough to buck the s**t out of. you need to just say "i want to date you" and see where your chips land.

im stuck in this boat for years now, she calls myself her best friend and i did to, but now recently I just stay away from her now coz she has a bf and dont wana be the one to cause any s*** in her life.
you are her best friend, that is a pussy move my friend. you wanted the poon from the pony, she was your best friend, you should be happy, call her up and apologize for your immaturity and pick your friendship back up. what kind of friend do you take yourself for?

as far as style is concerned, you need to dress in a way that will attract who you are looking for. you are young i get that, but you have said many times that you are looking for a girl with her head on straight, with a good idea of life.. that is not going to be some hoodrat in forever 21. to be honest you dont have anything to offer that woman yet. skate shoes are never an ok choice, unless they are very specific vans. v neck shirts have for the most part come and gone. t-shirts with branding on them are a no no. denim is a perfectly ok choice, as long as they are designer. no bull-head or pac sun brand is not designer. cut and material make a huge difference in the overall look of your ass. trade in some of your t-shirts for a well fitted slim cut buttonup with a pattern on it. or a nice pastel color.

Bru I understand what you saying, il do that, call her and apologize but how would I know if she does have feelings for me, she is the type of girl that a guy can mistake their friendship for somethingelse coz she is so friendly , She is friends with alota guys and she used to always tell me about how they tried making moves on her and asking her out lol, I have never done that tho duno whether i should regret it or should pursue it.

Word. I have such a hard time picking shoes and jeans its crazy. Usually I just get stuff from American eagle as far as pants and shorts go. Shirts I just usually get plain solid colors. Shoes are a tough one for me. I can't justify spending $120 on a pair of nikes or Adidas. So usually it's just a cheap pair of dc slip ons or the low cut vans (I haven't bought any vans in some time tho)

Actually I do have some button ups I used to wear back in my cowboy days

Still have them, just haven't really thought about wearing them. Seems a bit over the top to wear around. Idk. May try and start wearing them again. (Don't worry I don't wear my hat anymore lol)

Lol I really need a female friend that has good fashion sense to help me buy some clothes.

I'll bite.

I'm in a long term relationship, and I understand that you don't approve but that's not what my question is, and I simply want to dress better. Since I'm not chasing any women I'm not trying to dress to impress. I like to dress well, but I simply can't afford a lot of these higher end clothes. I honestly have maybe four pairs of jeans two pairs of shorts to wear outside of work, and a TON of plain white t shirts. I have a few "dressy" style clothes to wear to semi formal events, but that's about it. This is my preferred "style", and I believe I have good taste, I just simply cannot afford it.

(Ignore the watch, just wanted to show the clothing)

These shirts costs around 100 bucks a piece. Pants around 120-140. Shoes aren't too bad, I don't mind paying around 120-150 for shoes. But seeing as how I only make 9.00/hour, managing a BBQ restaurant, I can't affor to buy these clothes regularly, or get custom tailored clothing. Or can I? That is my question to you. Are there quality discount clothing stores that you know of? Or should I piece together a wardrobe?

so its not too much to wear a button up, it shows a bit more class/maturity when you can wear something like that. the cowboy pearl snaps are only to be worn by cowboys in my opinion, they are more like a uniform for them. no knocking them but if i work a pearl snap my cowboy brother would kill me. what you really want for shoes is something like chuck taylors, those are a great casual easy shoe to wear with everything, it makes more formal things casual. but so help you god if you wear them in your wedding i will hunt you down and kill you.

nick you can afford this stuff, i promise, there are some great outlets out there that no one knows about. depending on your area there are outlet malls that have those brands of shirts for 50% off, then they do these crazy deals that you can get $100 shirts for $25. just have to do the leg work. they also have their outlets online. ebay also has great deals on used s**t.. some brand new, dont shy away from that stuff, you can seriously get super nice s**t for dirt cheap. i am one for saving money as much as possible, so ask for gift cards for bdays and what not. wear expensive clothes that you got for cheap and still look like a million bucks. getting shirts and pants brought in to your figure is super nice, when clothes fit you look better no question about it, but things can get expensive. try haggling with the tailor, everything labor is negotiable that is something important to remember. just remember an hours work for you will get a shirt or a pant tailored, they will fit you forever, and last just as long because they are built better.

Yea Tom how do you dress baller like the pics Nick put on a budget?
here is a great question. i have not paid more than $25 for any of my dress shirts, aside from a few high end things i own. you have to wait for sales to get the right thing. the good thing about mens style is that it lasts more than a year, well aside from the "swag" style that kind of changes yearly. it takes a long time to assemble a solid closet of clothes not overnight but weekly or monthly you can ad a new piece. its a TREAT YO SELF moment.

But what clothes could I get tailored? What are some popular name brands that you think of when you think "nice clothes"? Would I buy these clothes at these outlets, and then take them to a tailor to have them fit? If so, then would sizing matter at all? I'm 100% new to custom tailored clothes. What's the going rate? How much is too much?

Andddd what's your take on sperry's boat shoes for casual wear? Leather oxfords for dress?

I still have my horse, just don't ride her as much...I don't go to rodeos all the time like I used to...just grew out of it I guess. But ok, I'll do just that and see how it works for me. Thanks.

This thread is genious. Tom, your honest, unbridled opinions in here express more of your maturity than the blatant flaming I've seen in other threads. Sub'd for both awesome responses, and ensuing hilarity.

i wear sperrys daily. casual and comfortable, and for some reason fashion says that they are a-ok for semi dress attire, unlike the chuck taylor shoe, they do the opposite by making your outfit seem a bit more mature. as far as nice clothes... there are a lot of options to go with. but the most important is original fit on your frame. for instance, i hate CK because its built for little wire frame guys, and its a bit more "modern" ie crisp clean lines, colors are very aggressive and simple at the same time. when i look for a nice quality i look for something that is thick, high thread count, that wont show your nipples through a shirt. large cuffs that can be rolled up, and also take a cuff link to secure. you want to focus on sizes that fit but need bringing in in the waist, so if you have broad shoulders but a narrow hip, you get a size up so they can take in the waist line. dont start with tailoring, get stuff that is close to fit for now. you are still young, and growing, no sense in tailoring clothes that you may grow out of
