Turbo, superchargers for our engine just are not very well built or supported, get a small enough turbo and still enjoy very little lag, but have a nicer system that's not unsupported like the sc..

Do they even still produce the sc setups?
I'm not sure if they do... I know for sure Jackson doesn't for B series.

With a properly sized turbo you don't have the sap that's a supercharger( takes power to make power)

Most Honda owners select a turbine that's far to big and doesn't spool till 5k lol

A good turbo that fits your powerband will give you great power and not have massive lag..
Inter cooler and piping/manifold can also impact your spool time

Tell me why.

Basically I'm just torn between the two. I know I'd get more horsepower out of the turbo and such. But that's not necessarily what I'm after.
I was gonna say horsies, but seems you want a smoother driving experience with some torque.

True, I didn't think of that.

I just think a supercharged B series would be a super cool build, and was something that I wanted to try for a while.

Is it your daily (for the most part)? Honestly I'd leave it all motor. Since your already planning to get a bike why have a car that you want to dump money in (performance wise) if your bike will still be faster? Keep it Na. Clean up the engine bay, shaved, tucked ect.. Just my opinion. I've just been more of a looks guy than performance I guess.

But if I HAD to choose between the 2 is say supercharge it. For the fact that its more unique. But Good luck finding a Jackson setup for it I hear they are hard to find.

It will actually be a project car. I'm picking up a daily next week (hopefully). And I still want a bike but that would be more of a "toy" than something I would race/show.

And I'm all into performance. With some looks ;) I wanted to make it a show car but I've just realized now that it's a Civic and no one really cares for them in shows. Unless they're stupid stanced

That's another reason why I want to! The different factor. I've actually found a couple.

The other advantage of a turbo: you can run it anywhere from 5-25psi, or step up to a larger turbo for more power, the Jackson SC is 6psi stock with 10psi Max, so once you have it your stuck with whatever power it makes.

True true.... I was planning on starting on 10-12 lbs on a turbo. I don't really want a TON of power.

Now. Since the coupe will be under construction for a long time, I want to hear your inputs. I know the pros/cons, power differences and prices differences but maybe I can learn something.

Supercharge, or turbo the Civic?

Turbo. Turbo all day. Superchargers are insanely expensive, and you won't net a considerable power gain from them (even running a Jackson). They're different, yes, but who gives a s**t what everyone else is doing? Do your car for you, and no one else.
You have a lot more flexibility for boost with a turbo. As others have said, don't run a huge ass turbo, and you'll be fine. If you build your bottom end and do a little bit of valve train work, you could run a GT30 and make 400whp on 91-93 octane. Since it's not your daily, it's very feasible.

Busy day at work. Been on since 2:30 am and not sure when ill be home. Im already at around 60 hours for the week.

I have 20 days to have my truck on a trailer to Indiana. Really starting to stress out...
Are you hourly? From Jan-May I average about 75hr/week. Our limit is 90/week unless we have authorization (In my field of work, sleep deprived people cause accidents/death). Love those paychecks boy but it's a fine line between that and not getting to see my family as much as I'd like.

I plan to run whatever it takes to make 300whp

Psi is just a number a gt28 at 10psi is completely different the a gt35 at. 10psi

A larger turbo moves more volume at a given psi then a smaller turbo, abd can effectively move more air at a higher pressure without skyrocketing the BAT ( boost air temp) and causing the engine to knock like crazy

Set a power goal and select a turbo that can get you there while being well within its peak efficiency range.. For myLS I plan on using a gt28, but that same turbo probably won't do well on a higher revving vtec engine since it will begin to heat up after about 6k Rpms

I was always under the impression those prepaid plans aren't a very good value for your dollar. How much do you pay for those?

$40 a month for unlimited calling and texting, and 200 mb of data. I don't use much data, only for pictures and then occasional web browsing/Facebook. I text a ton and use the phone quite often. Straight talk has a $45 unlimited everything plan, but I like being on verizons network since straight talk is T-Mobile.

Very good points gentlemen. I appreciate the input.

It probably helps to say that I have a turbo kit already. Just needs some parts and it would be ready to bolt on. It's not very big.

A QUALITY kit?
Most "kits" tend to be Chinese crap that destroy themselves

Ehh it's an eBay turbo. Those can do OK on low boost. But now that I'm not really in a rush and the coupe is a project, I would like to get a "name brand".

My eBay turbo has been working fine on 7lbs for the past year and a half.
