Before I started pounding the pavement, I bought a recumbent bike with the iFit program. If you have knee/shin splint problems, bikes are the answer! I like a recumbent because sitting on a seat for over an hour really beats my a$$! LOL.. Plus with the ifit program, you can watch google street view and feel like you're actually anywhere in the world running/biking and it self adjusts the speed/incline based on the terrain. They also have a "race" button where you can run/bike a route and race against everyone else who have also run/biked that route. It's really pretty sweet. Being that I LOVE to race, I knew it would be perfect for me. It's motivation to beat the other people on the course. Everything is posted too with results so everyone knows they are getting beat or beating someone else. The machine I bought was $500 and the ifit is $100/year. Once you're a member, you can get maps for free that thousands of other people have already created or you can buy sponsored maps. Or you can create your own maps and share with people.

So.. Currently I bike one day and then run the next. As of now, i'm not running more than 4 miles. Last year, I was averaging about 8 miles a day.
So it sounds like you liked the iFit. I just bought a treadmill last week with iFit. Knew I should have got one with a real display on it, not the shitty standard one. That thing is such a pain to use...

Oh, I use my ipad's. I think my screen on my recumbent is a standard option?? It's not the big fancy screen on the $3000 treadmils I saw. I just set my ipad (usually use the mini) up on the little ledge thing and have it linked to the ifit home page. Once you start moving it will pop up an "ifit live" icon. Click on it and it'll take you to the google maps/street view. Once your done it will then have you go back to the home screen where you can view your results compared to everyone else. The only thing I use the regular bike screen for is my heart rate and speed (which currently do not show up on the live screen). I just sit down, click the Ifit live button and that's it. I don't even bother pushing anything else because it does it all for you in live mode. Pretty nice!

As for what the big fancy screens actually do on the treadmill.. I have no idea? I imagine it's exactly what the ipad shows you (For a MUCH higher price). Of course you have to have the ifit wireless thing-a-majig plugged into your excercise equipment to get the live feed. That was the only reason I bought this thing. Just for that. I LOVE IT! Best $600 I spent in a long long time. I have the over sized pants I can't wear anymore to prove it :thumbs up

My issue is trying to pick a manual workout and trying to get it to log. This is just a basic screen of numbers and words. I could always use my iPhone. Do you use the web browser or the app? my treadmill has wireless and I have it set up with my iFit account.

Yes, it's all on the browser. Once you're logged in, you'll see "Menu" up top. Click on it and go to "fitness shop" from there you'll find both free and paid for maps/routes. It will auto load them for you so when you use your machine and hit the iLive button, it will auto load the first map/route in your workouts section (which you can move around and choose what days to run them) and once you start moving, it will begin to record your results and display them on your Iphone/ipad in real time.

I don't have the app but I see people bitching about it all the time. It's still pretty buggy and the last time I checked, the app was removed from the app store. It was previously $20. I don't see the point of the app anyway unless you work out outside (which I think is what it's for now that i'm talking about it). For running outside I like "runkeeper". I use the free version and I really like it. Been using it for over a year now. If I can't track my day to day fitness, I'll never progress which is why I like these two options.

I don't have an iLive button but I do have a Map button. I will play around with it and see what I come up with.

I downloaded the free one, not the $1.99 one. Ill try those things out and keep you posted. Hopefully I can get it figured out and working right.

This is sorta like what my machine display looks like. iFit Live button is blue on the left. The actual $100 wireless attachment thing plugs in at the very top. You can't see it in this picture.

Mine has wireless built into the machine and I have signed into my account on the treadmill. I got a few to log but not all. I have not clue how I did it. That's what I am trying to figure out.

Here's mine

Have you ever logged into your account online and checked out your "stats" "workout" or "schedule"? If you're logged in on your machine every time you run I bet it's been storing. Well... it should be. I know they've been having troubles lately with adding lots of new features. So far every map I've biked has recorded just fine since day one. My machine doesn't log me in unless my iFit module thing is plugged in. Then it knows it's me and auto loads on it's own with out me logging in or really doing anything at all. The machine itself is pretty basic I think. It's just the wireless gizmo and my ipad that make it worth every penny. I would have never bought it otherwise.

Well, I had to drive this Pontiac van through my line and I went up very slow and went to put the brakes on so I could stop up behind the car in front, and the stupid brake line popped and I had no brakes and couldn't stop so I ended up cranking to the left so I wouldn't hit the car in front of me. Ended up smacking into the tool back and breaking the wall behind it.

You can see how the doors don't line up anymore with the wall, and that's cause the wall is pushed back.

It's all good though man. What's done is done and you're not hurt, no one got sued, etc. and you got to drive an s2000. Win! :D

I couldn't find it. I'm not used to foot ebrakes and didn't see where it was. I was mashing both my feet and searching for the ebrake. Some of the cars they get at the auction are absolutely unsafe to sell like that one.

Slept in the kitchen with Sidney last night since her liver is failing and she's losing her potty. All she did was cry and gag when she got too worked up so I came to her. We go back to the vet today, and I'd like to drop dead right now. I'm so incredibly exhausted.

For future reference, they're usually on the very far left up high.

How fast were u going
Less than five mph. I drew up a sketch of the lot.

The blue dot is the car I was in and the pink is how far it was. Not far at all. The cars are numbered 0-100+ with a letter A, B, or C depending on the lane they go in. B cars are nicer. I work the A and C line because I'm new. They're usually s**t cars. I had one before that had really bad brakes as well.
