I don't like buying/trading for recon titled cars, but I thought this would be good for resell once snow hits in Oct. I'm half thinking about slapping some decent rims on it too and asking a premium on it. I was pleasantly surprised when I sold my recon titled e46 bmw last month for $6k (paid $2700). Hope this one will fetch the same or more (In it for ~ $3500).

Depends on the overall condition and the mileage. B6 A4's go for $8-$10k here. Reconstructed title would probably drop that $1000 or so. Quick and easy sell with the recon would probably be $6500.

Made the mistake of looking up a bike I used to have, and now thinking about buying a frame and building my old toy.

Car stuff or bike, car stuff or bike, argh. Definitely need to figure out the work situation over these next 3 unpaid weeks.

$8-$10??

I guess I don't know the Audi market very well?! Holy smokes. I did some searching and there isn't another for sale in my area. Couple older, couple newer. .. I'm gonna keep my eye out now and check resell prices while I'm gone for a month.

...right on :thumbs up

We have 2 of them right now. Same year both with around 90k miles. Both going for $10k. Granted that is a dealership but that is why I hit lower end at $8k.

PM me the vin and I can run it for you to check and see if there are any recalls hanging out in the system. Yours also looks that it might have the S4 bumper on it but I can't tell for sure in that pic. Could be aftermarket.

Did a quick scan through CL and it looks like I was a bit high for the private party sales at least around here. Looking to be average around $6500 here. There are ones that are up towards $9-$10k but they are low mileage very clean ones. Still at $5000-$6500 with the recon you are still out pretty far ahead.

I really need to stop staying up this late, especially since I can't sleep in, bit I'm eagerly awaiting the new album of a band I listen to.

My shop is moving farther away (70 mile commute round trip) and I want to look into buses to save gas and whatnot.
Ahh gotcha. I commute about 60 miles round trip daily, it's not too bad.

Traded my 97 5 speed Prelude

For this 2003 Audi a4 Quattro 1.8t w/ reconstructed title

In the end, I think I'll be able to get the same asking price except this one will sell faster being AWD which is like gold up here.
Nice!!

It's just vinyl. Very easy to do, but lots of waste material.

Easy day today. Banged out all the hard crap earlier this week, so I can relax these next few days at work

Traded my wagon last night

For this

Motor is only half put together (mini me that the guy couldn't finish). Up front, I think he got the better deal because my wagon ran. Similar rust spots at rear quarters too which I didn't see when I first saw this CRX over winter. Kinda bummed about that. In the end though, I think it'll be a better car for resale value. Wagons are rare, but I see them pretty often around my town. I can't even recall the last time I saw a CRX though. I think I'll finish out the mini me, drop it, wheels, clean up the nasty interior and then see where it sits.

.. Funny.. The CRX was the first car I bought myself before heading off to college in 98. Cost $3000 and man-o-man I thought i was the shi* son!!! LOL... Ended up wrecking it up a little bit (cosmetic) and selling it for $700 then bought a 99 civic sedan off the lot (installed fart can and a license plate neon light thing) and then got it repo'd for not paying the bills about a year or so later. Yeah... I was a mess. Livn' off 99 cent store hot dogs and 3 litter sodas... Crashing with anybody who would let me.. Hanging out at Huntington beach (so cal) all day every day..

LOL... The good ol' days. "Man it feels good to be a gangsta"

FYI: I'm still going to build a wagon, just want one rust free if i'm going to dump this K24 I have in it. Something inside me couldn't spend the money on a car with a body that wasn't totally straight.

Got to take a Model S to work this morning. I could get used to that! And scared the hell out of my mom when I took her for a ride.

Pics of it charging in my driveway coming soon

But an hour and a half to an hour 45 for 30 miles.... not ok.

It takes me 15 to 20 minutes to go 2.61 miles to my office. No matter what way I go traffic is bad . gotta love being center of the city, downtown at that.

Takes me about a half hour each way. Sometimes 45 minutes, depending on traffic. And that's taking the back way. If I were to take one of the two main routes to my work, it'd be easily an hour.

I assume you must live on top of your work then, lol
I live 1.6 miles from work but it still seems to take me 10 to 15 minutes with having to angle out of my driveway and hit every stop light known to man.

I can get to my work in fifteen minutes if there's no traffic. It's about nine miles from my house.
