What do you think about this trade?

Alright guys I found this ad on CL and offered him a trade for my autotragic, single cam ej2 plus cash. I told him that my buddy is getting me all of the parts to swap it to stick and that I could hook him up. I'm a little sketched that he actually is really interested. Makes me wonder if anything is up with the car. He wants to meet to check it out, ill get my brother to ride with me to test drive it. Just want some opinions, and anything I should make sure to ask the guy?

I do have about 2k put in my car with suspension wheels and some other parts. He's asking 4k, I'm thinking my car plus the little bit of cash i have saved is around 3200 at least

Yeah I think ill at least check it out. He said he just needs some cash and he'd like to have something different. Only mechanical problem he said sometimes it jumps and he thinks it's just a plug

As long as nothing is really wrong, I'd say go for it. Take it to a mechanic though, and have him do an all around inspection.

It seems that a lot of guys these days just get bored with their projects and want to keep moving on to something different.

My brother and I are going to meet him this evening, I'm pretty sure the car was tracked, the guy said it was bein built fr racing before he bought it. But the wear on those recaros can't be from daily driving over a few years could it?

He was concerned with all the right things. I'm willing to bet he just wants something more functional for a DD. A car with Recaros and a roll cage really isn't a functional DD lol.
That car has likely been tracked to hell and back. No one puts that much work into their car to just drive it like grandma. That's to be expected with tuner cars. Tell him you'd like to hear a cold start if possible, that way you can hear any idle surges etc. Test drive it, get it above 80, test for wobbles/shakiness, check under the car for any scrapes/dings/dents/abuse etc. Just basic stuff. If it checks out, this could be pretty rad. Just be ready, cages suck balls for daily use.

Went and checked it out today, I think I'm gonna pass on it. Really two main things, it burns oil. And in 5th gear at 70mph it sits at about 3500 rpm, the dude didnt know much at all about the car and it def didnt pull very hard but then again me and my brother are almost 400 pounds extra weight
