did you check the bore for out of round? and the crank

you didnt replace the rods in your last rebuild?
No I got it machined. The bearing took the beating. Apparently that was the wrong thing to do.
what bearing are you using?

all of that is irrelevant, looks are deceiving.
they can be out of round, like an oval. which could cause a spun bearing and wont lubricate correctly, anytime building an engine you should check both rod and crank for out of round
done once, and done right.Why not just build the whole damn motor instead of replacing a thing or two, especially since you want it to be reliable?
