Seriously... I am looking at riding pants right now. I don't know whether to get the super fitted kind (like race pants) or the pants that I can just throw over my jeans (that is armored).holy balls that's a helluva blowout...
CC, Integra, Bike, Civic.. you have got to get this figured out! Pick a few!
i wear the ones that go over other cloths. i have some leg and hip armor on underneath them but usually once i get somewhere i like to be able to take stuff off quickly to get into more normal cloths.Seriously... I just don't know what looks better (if I have the option to be just as protected and look good I'll do it). I guess I could ask my uncle. He's been riding sport bikes almost his whole adult life. i've never had the racing pants so i can't give an opinion on those.
Of course I'll be buying something that's protective.I don't ride, but w/armor always sounds better then w/o armor.
leather has a higher abrasion resistance which is usually why track riders are in all leather instead of textile since you'll be sliding a lot further at the speeds they are at on tracks.I just don't know what looks better (if I have the option to be just as protected and look good I'll do it). both leather and textile gear can be susceptible to seam failure which will leave you exposed. which is
it really does come down to personal preference. if you're just falling off the bike and not hitting anything both will work and armor will lessen the impact you take. if you're crashing ... you'll be making a horrible pun and probably be in just as much pain in either one.
this link has a nice image showing injury risk zones with some info

If I have the option I will careI second this notion. Or just naked.
But yeah, go with the pants you can put on over your clothes. Who gives a f*** about vanity, ride safely and comfortably.
