I'm gonna dual boot windows. Ubuntu is for play, but for some reason runs like s**t on this laptop. I wanna upgrade the RAM, but I can't figure out if it supports DDR3 or not. I have 3gb of DDR2.yeah they have a few. Tyler, their oldest son, is 22 and has a narcotics problem.. no surprise there haha

If the mobo is currently slotted with DDR2, it doesn't support DDR3. They are in no way cross-compatible. Are you running Ubuntu in a windowed shell on top of Windows, or running it as a separate OS on a bootable partition on the HDD?
Ubuntu has the whole drive at the moment, because my windows disk gave me a blue screen after i updated for over two hours and restarted, and kept doing a physical dump and would not start, so I said f*** it and wiped it through 13.04 on.I have another disk laying around that I'm gonna try.
The memory that's in it already is a Samsung 2gb pc6400 sdram and a Samsung 1gb pc6400 sdram. I wanna upgrade to two dual channel 2gb sticks so I have four gigs. For some reason, I can't listen to music and go on the internet at the sametime without ubuntu slowing to a crawl, and I'm not sure if it's the RAM or the CPU.

Ah man, that sounds like hardware failure. I'm willing to bet that drive is taking a dump (hence the slow response from things.. read/write is probably next to nil).
Could be. It was originally an external hard drive. I ripped the case open and put the drive into the computer, and linux came up with 6 bad sectors. However, windows seems to run perfectly fine.
Yeah man get that drive replaced. It's on it's way.
Its what I had at the time. I can't afford to spend money on my computer. It seems okay now.

Well i plan to start it next week, jordan at map will be tunning the car if everything goes as planned the 30th along with 2 other of my buddys cars a hopefully 250-60 whp all motor h22 and another lsv with pro 2s already made 200+ he is hoping for 220, u should come watch should be intresting to say the least
