I will call around today and see how much they will charge. Should i have gotten new bolts? I figured the old ones would be ok, guess not lol.

Anyways i need to stop procrascinating and get this car running thanks again for your help

Correct tools? Drill and some bits?
Yes, you should have gotten new bolts for the rocker arms. Yes there are appropriate tools you are supposed to use, not just drills and bits. The are lots of videos online and I have see many people try different ways but just make sure you do it safely and correctly if you go down that route.

Also, did you adjust you valves?

25 bucks was the damage. I will adjust valves after i torque the rocker assembly down to spec. Will oil on the threads help prevent bolts from breaking?

Do you know the pipe behind the block where the water pump pushes coolant across to the thermostat. On the pipe, there are to small openings, one leads to the themo stat housing, and on the driver side of the pipe, is there suppose to be like a plug there? (i had a fuel line with a bolt on the end to prevent coolant from escaping)

Thanks for your help

you can use oil, I preferably use other materials/lubricants. As far as anything being plugged refer to your service manual. I have looked through it before and it will say, if not a quick search on google for a schematic should show and tell you what to do and where it goes.

Quick question can't you adjust the valves located at cylinders 1 and 4, 2 and 3 at the same time since they are both at tdc ?

after two long months of watching my car collect dust, i finally got it started today,

When i started the car i noticed a decent cloud of white smoke come from the exhaust. As the car reached operating temperature the smoke decreased.

A search yielded that it could be a few things.( head gasket not installed correctly, head bolts not torqued properly, or cracked sleeves(Bad news).
where did i go wrong?
Any of you experience something similar?

i installed a felpro head gasket( with markings facing up) i torqued the used head bolts in 3 steps !/4 turn at a time.

my idle roams from 1300 to 1800 rpm, but my stock air intake had a crack, so a new air intake should hopefully fix that.

can any you please offer some insight, it is much appreciated, thanks.

peace
