Nice topic!
I too have a 401k, 100%, 6%. I started a RothIRA about 8 months ago, I save, and have a company paid HSA that I also contribute to.
I wish I would've started this about 5 years ago (30) now, but better late than never I suppose.

I have an IRA rather than a 401k because it's what my company offers. I put in 5% but they only match up to 3%. I'd like to start a Roth IRA as well in the next couple of years, just need a little more disposable income.

Tesla is a niche market. When the bottom of that s**t drops out, you'll lose your ass if you have a ton of money tied up in those stocks.

You could very well be right, I wouldn't put a lot into it but for a small investment early on, it's an interesting prospect.
