Turbo?

Hey guys!! I'm new to this site and need some help. Im looking into getting a turbo for my civic and dont know which ones to look into and try getting. I am on a budget as well as not knowing what series or levels to go with. My engine is a D16Y7. Help Me Please!?!?!?!?

Im not really sure yet due to again, just starting out. i really dont wanna have to spend more than $500 if i really dont have too.

The problem lies in that you can get a cheap eBay turbo kit however to buy all the supporting mods and then pay for the tune. A tune alone you are looking at your budget if not over. If forced induction was that cheap more people would turbo their cars

WOw. Ok well thank you very much! now knowing that, what kind of price can i be expecting for a full turbo kit? or individual pieces?

If $500 is your budget you're going to have a bad time, even ebay turbo kits dont go for $500.
You'll be needing around $2,000 or more.

For starters, you'll need to at least do a mini-me or intake manifold swap for an external 2wire IACV.
Then obd1 conversion and obd1 dizzy
Chipped ECU & tune
Aftermarket fuel pump
Higher flowing Injectors
Oil lines
Intercooler
D-series turbo manifold
Small turbo, a t3/t4 turbo is the common type you see on most builds
ARP headstuds, perhaps new headgasket, compression test just in case
2.5in exhaust
A few more things here and there,

Theres so much info on dseries and hondatech, do your research. If your budget is $500 give up and spend those on comfortable and functional mods. Click the FAQ (96-00 civic) link in my signature below and check out what ideas i can offer you.

I say 1500 minus tune. Blue top injectors. No need for mini me swap although it would help.fuel pump would be ok then I say Godspeed turbo kit (one of the better eBay brand). Then the other stuff he mentioned exhaust (ebay or custom) obd1 conversion (a must) .

Yeah you could probably go ahead with exhaust but it will have to be modified to fit later

Intake mini me swap at least would be a must.*
But yes, godspeed turbo and turbo manifold are definitely not reliable, just get used quality parts
