my current steering wheel is old and peeling, I want a new one but due to laws its must have an air bag so I'm interested in a second hand type R steering wheel (from a 96 - 00) are these wheels compatible with all 6th gen civics?

I have a s2000 wheel in my 99 hatch. Srs was plug and play with the wheel I have. Horn and airbags are good to go.

I have a Type R aftermarket wheel installed on my civic. But mine doesn't have an Airbag. I don't know if thats a law in my state or not. What state do you live in? Im in PA.

Then again, it really doesn't matter to me anyway. My civic isnt exactly street legal, so it really isn't going to make a difference.

Legality and Safety are two different things but also the same.
You need safety just in case.... you die or get permanent bodily or mental damage you know
Legality has its enforcements for safety to prevent that...

Op is in Austrailia, his laws are very different than in the states, then again it really doesn't matter why. He asked for advice for wheels WITH airbags. Giving advice contradicting that is derailing and could confuse.

Also kind of confused on what your car not being street legal has to do with the OP's question?
