Here is a pic of the civic that I am buying in a few weeks, the guy is holding it for me.

What do you guys think?

this is whats done to the car....

2000 front end
mugen front lip
si grill
2000 Si rear disc conversion
rear diffuses
15" polish slip tires 7/10
drop zone shock wit skunk 2 lowering spring
30k hid kit
new headlight
50/50 taillight
Integra front seat
has ac cold

It is a 5 Speed, so thats good.

I want to put a full body kit on it, some better racing wheels, and a Skunk 2 Mega Power RR racing exhaust system, just to start. Thats all when i first get it.

After a few weeks of owning it, I was going to take it to the tuner shop called R/T Tuning, and get a Turbo Kit installed, prob a T3, or a step up from a T3, along with a good tune.

What do you guys think about that?

Note: This will be my daily driver, because I am selling my other civic.

Car looks pretty like a good platform to start with. As for your intended mods, I have a couple thoughts.

- ditch the body kit, its out of style now lol. Lip kits are the way to go. I'd say ditch the Fugen lip, and find an Si lip. In my opinion, its the best looking one out there. And it doesn't hang super low, so since this car is your DD, that is optimal.

- when replacing the headlights, ditch the 30K HIDs for stock halogens, or at the very least 5K HIDs.

- I'd replace the suspension.....at least the shocks. They aren't suited for the stiffer spring rates of the Skunk2 shocks.

- The wheels are fine for now (IMO).....but what wheels did you have in mind?

- For exhaust I'm not a huge fan of Skunk2, they are too loud for my taste. I'd personally get an Apexi WS2, Greddy Evo2, or Magnaflow.

- And before you think about boosting the car, make sure the maintenance is 100% taken car of.

my thoughts:

Body kit? No. Don't. that car is nice, a body kit will ruin it.
Exhaust, sure. youtube the exhaust and make sure you like the way it sounds.
I like those rims actually, but hey as long as you stay away from chrome and 20's you're okay.
turbo's are nice. maintence is more nice when it comes to a DD. conservative boost and tune IMO (after maintenance)

in the end it's your car and you can do whatever you want to it.

My thoughts?

What kind of body kit are you going to get? The only one I'd prefer is the BYS or Airwalker front bumper (works best when you got an intercooler)

Other than that, any of the non-ebay lips here are great! Definitely Chargespeed, and First Molding.

What kind of 'racing wheels' are you thinking on getting? Try to stray away from 14" wheels and 17" wheels. 15-16 preferably 16.
damn, that Civic's actually REALLY nice as is, probably just needs CTR headlights and a new lip then i'd be jealous.

Yeah, I agree, the civic is Really nice as is. Its a nice car to start with. And as for the body kit, I'm undecided. I want to get a body kit, but nothing crazy. Nothing that makes the car look nothing like a civic, you know? And the exhaust, I want the Skunk2 because I heard nothing but good things about the skunk2. And I agree with making sure the car is running at 100% before installing a turbo kit. That's really good advice. The wheels are really nice, but I want to get the same style wheels, just a better make. Or maybe even black racing rims? I'm noting getting Chrome, or putting 20" on it. Not happening lol. I will prob install a short shift kit in it too. Short shifters just make shifting a bit better IMO

There's always the recommended Apexi WS2 and Yonaka catbacks.

I've never heard of Black Racing.... like this? Reminds me of SSR Type C's

As for the short shifter, I just spent $10 and got an integra dual bend and dremeled it, it's a slightly shorter throw. Best thing to get with your short shifter is a weighted shift knob, they help incredibly.

I wasnt talking about a brand called "Black Racing", lol. I was just talking about the color of the rims, which is black. I like Black colored racing rims. But the rims that are on the car now, is really nice. I will prob get a new set of wheels, with a similar style. But if the wheels that are on it now, look almost brand new, then i will keep them on it. But I have to really look at them and check them out.

However, the second rim, the black one, looks really good. I think it will look even better on my civic. lol

Oh s*** haha. Well dude, before you make any huge expenses, figure out exactly what you want. Check out the Showoff section and find some inspiration:
I think, if you're not entirely sure on what you want, it's best to consider as many options as possible before you are certain on where your money goes to. This is the best way to figure out what pleases you the most and you save straight for the exact parts you want without any bs in between!

Put a body kit on it if you want, who cares about what's popular. Just make sure it's an authentic kit or be prepared to "make it fit".
I'd change the wheels just to avoid any unexpected cracking.

The RR exhaust will be very loud and drone pretty bad before you get a turbo setup on your car. I'd wait to upgrade that.

Oh, I forgot to tell you guys, money is no object. But I Dont want to spend 15k on a civic. The most I am willing to put in the civic, is prob about $6,000. If I get some nice deals from the tuner shop, I might go $10,000 max. I want this civic to be fast and look really nice. But not to fast with insane HP. More power means more maintence. Lol

You can do a lot to a Civic with just $5,000, especially an EX since it's already got the Y8 in it.
Hell, you can slam $2000 to turbo it to $2000.
$1000 on proper coilovers
$1000 on your favorite wheels and quality tires
$1000 on whatever the hell else you want!
