Generally you are suppose to speed up when about to hit a deer or something of the like, that way your nose doesn't dip and the animal cant roll up and go through your windshield. Had this been a 200lbs mule deer, you would of had a Tommy Boy sort of moment.

Rather it be the windshield than my whole front end. That glass is pretty strong. Although, I do know that it probably would've destroyed the glass had I not slowed down. All is well though. Car has a new windshield on now. I'm just glad it didn't go through. My family doesn't need a dead son right before Christmas.
