Hey guys figured id join up here to find out ways to keep my DD running in tip top shape...its a 96 DX bare bones coupe...only option is A/C doesnt even have Power steering..194K miles 5spd and runs like a top...cosmetically its pretty rough as one of the POs beat it up pretty good but for 500 bucks what can i expect haha...picked it up may of last year with 177K miles so i could keep the miles off my 07 F150...few pics of it

only things ive done is added a block heater, new A/C compressor, tie rods and oil pan/valve cover gaskets, tuned it up

Just trying to keep it running like a Honda should lol...I want to run this car as long as possible lol I drive 600 miles a week

Ahh well you definitely have a nice base for that. I'd suggest doing water pump and timing belt with a new tensioner, as well as do some preventative maintenance and maybe do some testing such as compression testing to make sure all your cylinders are running well.

I have the stuff to do the tbelt and water pump...just need the time lol..everything else motor wise has 10k or less miles on it

Nice! Good start then. I've got 192500 on my integra and she's got good numbers for compression and leakage so I've been trying to get money to do my timing belt and pump. I have the tools and time, just not the money haha

Wow nice deal $500 is a real solid deal for that around the middle TN area some people are charging $3000 for bone stock EG and EKs

I paid $2100 for my EX it's in great condition with low miles but its a little higher than a similar car a couple years ago, the demand for Hondas has skyrocketed because of IA which I mist admit has gone way downhill since the days of hanging out Saturday nights under the walking bridge, if your from around here I'm going to start a meet at the park near the Oakland's mansion

haha i just need to get the time so i can get to my buddies house and put it on the lift
