We didn't put Ohio in that category, the census bureau did. Also known as North Central. It was taught in middle school when the states and their capitals were studied.

Well Ohio really is the heart of it all, folks in Cleveland would never consider themselves mid-western (see Lebron James). If you're in Columbus the rest of the state doesn't exist. Cincy dips into Kentucky...

Just like in every other region, state, county, etc. it doesn't really matter to those outside those areas/states. It's like synthetic vs. dino oil, sony vs. microsoft, Apple vs. Android, U.S.A. vs. the rest of the world... They are fanboy debates or loyalty fights.

It was considered the Heart of America at one point because it slightly (SLIGHTLY, imo), resembles a heart. It was a promotional thing to attract tourists. Personally, I just go for the roller coasters
