The expensive ones, decided against alphards. You brought up a good point that I'd end up with it all anyways so I said f**k it. And compressors were only 35 so I bought them

Solution to your vent problem: the driver's side vent can be removed easily and fabbed to work with that display you have. There's this thing, which doesn't particularly apply to you (does to me, and I'm getting it), but it'll give you an idea of what I'm talking about (Audi Vent Gauge). Something like that would look super clean, and relatively factory.

Also yeah, parts for these cars are insane. For instance: an oil change kit from Audi (which includes the 36mm oil filter housing socket for removal, drain tube and tool, magnetic drain plug and gaskets, 5+ quarts of Liqu-Moly 5w40 oil, and a few other bits) was something like $180 lol. Comes with the territory of having a big boy car.. s**t breaks the bank. My brake kit is like $1500. OH WELL!

I'm already planning to get the p3 vent gauge so that won't work lol I need that space. But it's where I got the idea from. Just this gauge is slightly bigger so it flexes the fins a little

My oil change was only 100 but I only have to buy the filter and oil lol

Well got the mines ran, can't even see them and found empty oem clips that the could snap into and follow mostly. Now debating if I pay 200 tomorrow for someone to finish the install or hold out and do it myself

Bought everything for an oil change myself, spent $58 with an extra quart of oil (damn 2.0T oil consumption).

That's pretty good except I take 10 quarts a change lol and amsoil euro blend isn't cheap. The 4.2 uses a oil up too

I like them but make sure you check the turbo if it's a 1.8t. Right around there the oil feed and drain lines start to clog and the turbo starts to s**t if they didn't stay on top of maintenance and run the correct oil type.

K03 luckily are pretty easy to find since a lot of people upgrade to a larger k04 or big turbo

I dig em, man. They're good cars, but some things are a tad bit pricier (parts etc.). Take care of it, and it will last forever!

Ah yeah, V8, I forgot. OUCH. 10 quarts is a ton haha. I was considering making the switch to Amsoil (I can get 5 quarts for like $60), but there's not much of a reason.. this thing is my daily. I think Audi's are common for slight oil consumption. I have to top mine off every 3-4k miles.

Bingo. First thing I would do on the 1.8t's is full tune-up, engine/rad flush, examine turbo, replace feed/return lines with stainless steel/AN fittings, and run a fuel treatment on it. After that, so long as maintenance on it was kept up, it should be great. Also, the K03's are inexpensive to be had second hand. Rebuild kits are like $100 for em.

Guy at works a dealer so I get it but yeah it uses a s**t ton. It's definitely not cheap to do.

I'd probably have to top mine off but I change it at 3k anyways lol

For real I had a Mexico build 03 Jetta Wag and it was an absolute nightmare. Had turned me away from VW all together.

To me Passats are only worth the money if they are 4motion.

Mex ones are MADE in germany and ASSEMBLED in mexico. Most U.S. ones are mex ones.
