Well, that sucks
Now you know my pain!!I hate when I talk to people about buying a motorcycle and they try and tell me all of these stories about people they knew that wrecked. Mainly when those stories were preventable injuries. Like today, my fiancé's sister in law was telling me about her cousin that wrecked his bike all by himself and tore off half the skin on his arm and hit his face on the pavement and had to have reconstructive surgery. I said "I'm assuming he wasn't wearing a full face helmet or a leather jacket" to which she replied no, and I said "that's not the bike's fault".
Just because motorcycles are dangerous doesn't mean it's okay to make unsafe decisions and blame them on motorcycles!
My family backs me 100% but my parents used to ride.
Anywaysssss... I fully understand the risks of riding a motorcycle on public roads. Spare me the lecture please

Blackhawks are out
I used to b***h about how I don't like motorcycles (even though I REALLY want an 80's Honda CB or Yamaha XS1100 to cafe out haha.. hypocrite, I know), but I'm not gonna lecture someone on how they can kill themselves on one. Its a goddamned motor between your legs that can hit 120mph. If you don't understand the dangers and implications of that by itself, you shouldn't be getting a bike to begin with. I think anyone who gets on one knows, at least a bit, about the associated dangers.I hate when I talk to people about buying a motorcycle and they try and tell me all of these stories about people they knew that wrecked. At the same time 90 percent of the time, my friends that get hurt or killed it isn't their fault. At least in our area cars love to pull out in front of motor cycles and not yield to them when they should be

Bored at work. Literally nothing to do :/
My point of view with riding is pretty straightforward. The way I see it, I could die any day in a car accident. Let's say I saved up for a bike, and then decided not to get it because it was too dangerous. Then I get into a car accident months later and I'm paralyzed. I will have wished that I had gotten that motorcycle, rather than living in fear of what could happen.
We all take risks every single day. It's all about what you think is worth it. Some people would rather play it safe, some people accept these dangers. It's all a matter of personal preference.
I know guys that have been riding three times a week for over forty years and have never been in any kind of accident. I also know guys that got into accidents in their first week riding. It's all a game of chance.
That goes beyond riding, that covers everything, imo. It's all a game of chance.
Just don't be a dumbass. Ride like no one sees you. Don't ever assume that they do.My point of view with riding is pretty straightforward. The way I see it, I could die any day in a car accident.
