Can you go back to the old place even at a lower position? Something would be better than nothing.

Nope. I even offered to go back at minimum wage. Was making 9.00/hr. Hiring someone with 5 years experience in your business for minimum wage? No brainer. The problem is... I don't know if you guys remember or not but I was screwed out of my position before I left. I was the night shift manager. The general manager found out that I had an interview for longhorns, so he told the owner. The owner then tells one of our employees that the night shift manager position has opened up and then promised her that job. For conversations sake let's say that I found out about this interview on Monday night. Well, Tuesday (the following day) morning, I had found out that the general manager told the owner that I was "leaving". So I got in touch with him, that morning, to let him know that it was only an interview. He said "oh well I wish you would have told me that sooner"

So after 5 years of working there, with no issues whatsoever, and one year in management, my job was given away in less than 24 hours on the word of someone else, without me ever being consulted.

A s**t storm ensued. Not by my accord either. I swept it under the rug myself and just worked forward with that betrayal in mind. However, all of the other employees were pissed. I was a well respected employee. They figured if they would do this to the manager, then their jobs weren't safe. So 5 employees put in their notice in that same week, including myself. None of that was my fault. But that negative stigma of protest is attached to my name now and the owners wife hates me for it.

So.. Nope. Can't go back there. :(

I'm looking to get into some kind of data entry field, or something similar working with computers. I can type ridiculously fast. Can't remember the wpm but I'll take another typing test later tonight and post my results. I posted one up here before and you guys said it was good.

I'll honestly take anything at this point though. I filed six applications today, to everything from a porter at a car dealership, to an hourly sales associate at target.

I'm assuming this is good?

I'm assuming that I would be closer to 100 wpm because I'm typing slower than I normally would when taking the test, since I have to read what they want me to type versus typing from thought.

"An average professional typist types usually in speeds of 50 to 80 wpm, while some positions can require 80 to 95 (usually the minimum required for dispatch positions and other time-sensitive typing jobs), and some advanced typists work at speeds above 120 wpm."

Forum is usually quiet somewhat through the day. I noticed since I started sitting on it at work that it's quiet.

I got a Corsair fully mechanical keyboard and my WPM tanked. I can type really well with only two fingers, but this keyboard has me all messed up. Btw, two fingers. In HS I took a typing class so I could computers and basically slack off for a period on the internet. In typing class, in order to pass, I had to be able to type 50 WPM, and that was with all fingers, I was told I'd fail since I had such an issue actually learning to use all fingers. I made a deal with the teacher to pass me if I could type 60 WPM and he agreed. I was able to hit 71 and got an A :D Since then, I've learned to do a lot better with finger placement and can nail the key without looking with only my index fingers. Apparently that's some kind of feat because everyone is always amazed when they see me type, hence I thought I would share :D Personally, I think I'm some kind of retarded since I cannot learn to type properly.

Btw, I don't type that fast anymore. I can still type fairly quickly, but I'm sure it's not 65-70

I actually know a few people that type like that.

For me, the traditional had placement works best. I took a typing class in middle school and I was the fastest typer in the class. Though, I wasn't proud of that because the reason I could type so fast was because I was flat out addicted to an online rpg called runescape, and that game has an open chat feature, so I typed a lot.

I'm usually on mostly during the day. I've noticed I have catching up to do by the time I get to work the next morning.

In high school, we made this program that records how fast you can type your ABC's flawlessly. My record (class record) was 3.2 seconds. I've tried, and can no longer do it. On my resume, I have 80 WPM listed, however on that typing test I can only get about 61.

 for me it was constantly talking to people on AIM and IRC.

Haha I feel you dudes. Years of AIM, ICQ and general online socializing made my WPM jump up high. I'm in the high 90's.

I watched Hoonin' With Hertrech and that song makes me want to drift and melt the tires off the rims of the drift car I don't have but have been searching Craigslist for for over 4 hours now...

Anything by Structures, Architects, Northlane or The Ghost Inside make me want to melt faces/drift all the cars around all the corners.
