You keep the stock rolling diameter the same for what ever size of wheel you put on so no, it won't lift your car up. Usually as the wheel gets larger the profile of the tire gets smaller unless you are working with a lifted truck. Now if you go with a 17 with a big ass tire and say screw the stock rolling diameter along with the speedometer readings, then it might be possible to gain a very little amount of height but this would be like going with a very small profile tire to lower the car. Not usually the most efficient route to go.
Also, the taller you get the tire profile the more of a possibility that you are going to be rubbing the hell out of the inside of the wheel well.
