Figured I'd drop a line here and introduce myself.

Leasing a 2014 Civic LX Sedan 5MT for the next 2 years. New to Honda and new to driving stick. Decided to get into a Civic due to their reliability and the awesome lease deal I got ($35/month!). Not sure how/where to post pictures yet but I will once I figure that out.

Here to find reviews of different models, tires and any issues that owners may have run into with their vehicles. Also to get any advice on dealing with a leased vehicle since this is my first time leasing too.

I have had the car since late April...about 4,300 miles on her now. Will post a review sometime after 5k to give my overall impressions.

Yeah it was quite the deal. Perfect for me at the time finishing up my internship in Physical Therapy school (working 40hrs/wk for free) lol.

Honda North is a pretty good dealership. Picked up my buddies S2K there for 16.5k out the door with just under 27k miles on it last spring.

Welcome to CC

I'm originally from Lynn so  to NorthShore... xPl0der is from Worcester or whatever

Thanks, Shinsen.

Honda North has been good to my family and I. My father bought his Pilot there and last year my brother bought his Civic there. Good customer service and much better than the service I got with my last vehicle at a local Subaru dealership. I also like Honda North's service incentives. My first oil change (coming up at 5k) is free...and every third one is free too

Pretty slick. What are the regulations for a leased vehicle? Like 10000 miles a year or something?

12k/year, could have done 15k about $30 more a month but it turned out to be a better deal just paying for any miles I go over 24k.

Thank you.

Yeah you're right. I suppose I am referring to Honda's reputation in general. My brother use to work at a car part store and his boss said, "if everyone owned Honda, we'd be out of business." Are there any problems in particular you have come across?

I'm hoping I don't run into any issues the 2 years I'll be using this car...or if I do hope the repairs are covered under warrantee.

this is all coming from the '07 I own.. but, all the newer Hondas seem to have issues.

- failing paint (Night Hawk Black Pearl for me)
- failing CMC
- failing rear wheel bearing
- failing 3rd gear
.. that's just the tip of it all, i'm sure. luckily, of those 4 i have only had issues with 3. but when you pay (as much as i did) you expect to have a nice car that's going to last. hasn't been the case so i am stuck for 5 more years at least.

leasing is a different animal but hopefully you can enjoy the car more than enjoying it from a distance as it sits in a shop for warranty work!

regardless, enjoy it! what're your plans after the lease is up?

Sounds like quite the bucket list...sorry to hear about that. Well here's to hoping for minimal trouble!

When I'm done with the lease I'm hoping I can buy it out and use it as a trade in for another car. Not sure the rules of name dropping here but I'm hoping to get into a luxury sedan.

word. i am hoping my next vehicle will either be an Audi or something similar. i've owned nothing but Hondas since i was 18 and the FG2 has put a really bad taste in my mouth. the way i see it, if i'm gonna have to constantly pay for repairs, i want something much more luxurious, grown-up, and exciting.
