This is just because you are young and terrible with your money. Pretty soon you will be able to live off of $40k/yr and get along fine if you had to.

yep. I'm a little lost. I'm fortunate enough to have some pretty awesome opportunities to make some good money but they're a bit extreme. I'm trying to find something that I'll enjoy doing in my home state, and still make a decent amount of money. My father made 76k/year before he retired from the fire department, and my family lived fairly well. I've never known a six figure income, by my family's standard of living, we would thrive.
I've really been considering venturing into private security, same with law enforcement, but police have to deal with so much political bs.
I've been working on my physical strength and training in various scenarios with different weapons. I've always been interested in that career path. I have a friend that works for a company specializing in dignitary and asset protection, and they only get called out if there's a known risk, or if the value of the goods being protected reaches a certain amount. They're fully outfitted in bulletproof vests, slung rifles, sidearms, etc. Looks like a damn swat team at times.
Thinking about chasing down that field but my skinny stature doesn't do me any favors there.
