So my gfs Lil sister has a 98 ex coupe, she wants a grand for the which I won't pay because she drove it in the woods like it was my jeep. She won't tell me but I'm positive she blew the engine and her dad must have went thru insurance for some reason, so now the car has a salvage title. Obviously it's no good to me or anyone else with the salvage title. I offered her $500 and that's ONLY if she gets the title fixed. I want the car for a project car, i wanna turn it into a clean Si and give the poor car the TLC it desperately deserves. So who thinks this is a waste? I could get a car in better condition for a Lil more money and do it to that. What u all think?

That's what I was thinking that I dunno if she bent the unibody, she had it stuck pretty good once and had to be winched out.

I figured it wouldn't be a smart buy but I figured for $500 I'd get the shell of the car I want. I'm only just getting back into the civic world and just wanted some opinions from u people who know the cars better than I do.

Well for one you didn't give us very good pictures. Second, is the body is still straight then why the salvage title? If you can get a straight title then I don't see the issue.

I screen shot the pics off her instagram. They were the best I could find. The body is in good condition, no rust. But I never really looked the car over with a five tooth comb. They're not being completely upfront with me about the salvage title. Said they bought it like that but I know u can't transfer ownership of a salvage title, at least that was my understanding. That alone is making me skeptical about it. That's why I told her ONLY if they get the title fixed, then I might buy it.
