headers install 2005 civic lx

I want to install headers on my car. What do I need to do this so my CEL won't come on. I will have a custom exhaust pipe made with a catalytic converter welded on like the ex. but I don't know where the o2 sensor would go?

You have two 02' sensors, your upstream is before the Catalytic converter, and the downstream is after the catalytic converter, now, long as you put your upstream a bit above the cat that will be fine, and the down stream should be just after the converter, BUT often some aftermarket Catalytic converters arnt as strong as a stock unit, and you would have to use a spark plug defouler on the end of your 02 sensor ( downstream 02, the one after the catalytic converter) to haul the sensor away from the pipe itself, tricking it into thinking all is all right.

to be clear, our cars only have 1 header, not 2 headers.

Yup, as said, make sure one goes before the cat, and the other one after.

dx lx your going to need a o2 plug extension.
