It actually is. Eating causes the acids to soften your teeth for a period of time. Brushing while the acids are present is bad.

I drove a slammed honda daily here for ~3 winters. As long as you're not trying to drive on 1'+ unplowed roads you'll be fine. If anything you might end up like me a few times... you'll be a free plow service for the state.
