Best exhaust/muffler/etc.

I'm looking for insight on a deep toned exhaust/muffler/etc. Without breaking the bank. I'm on a high school budget, but want a roar from my 1998 Honda Civic EX.

I'm not sure i've ever heard a D16y8 roar, but you could look around youtube and hear some exhaust setup tones and find one that works for you.

Yonaka has some fairly cheap setups that i think have a good tone, you might check those out.

Dropping exhaust onto different car.

Would I be able to drop this DX catback onto a 1998 civic EX? Or will it strictly be for the DX?

The catalcatalytic converter and header are different from a dx to ex, so no. You have to change the entire exhaust setup from the header back

It would work. If you need to pass emissions, you will fail though, and you may get a CEL. There is no catalytic convertor with that system.

Merged all 3 threads into one. There is no need for multiple threads on the same situation. If you need advice or have anything to add to this put it in here.

Hmm, now that i've read the reviews for Yonaka that they rust and don't line up, i'm not so sure. Anyone have a Tsudo system?

Yonaka doesn't line up and rusts? My yonaka lines up perfectly on my integra and hasn't shown one bit of rust, and I live in eastern Pennsylvania where when it snows, the salt becomes an issue. My yonaka is spotless still.

I know five different people with yonaka exhaust systems and not one had an issue with fitment. The ONLY issue that I know of is the honey combs vibrating loose in the resonator and causing a rattle.

But that's only one person, and he even admits that it may be from bottoming out his car.

That's what happened in my spec d which prompted my purchase for the yonaka.

@dcannon729 op I've got a 98 civic Si Canadian but the us equivalent is ex and I got the yoanaka cat back and installed it my self and it has perfect fitment. Comes with gasket and all I used was some gasket lub for the setup. Sounds great really deep! And loud if u rev it up enough to make it roar
