Headlight Questions, Experiences

I'm looking to change the headlights of my EK4 and the first problem I'm facing is the difference between headlights for 96-98 models and for 99-00 models,
Besides the stylish differences, will both headlights fit the car? because I'm still not certain if mine is year 98 or year 99, it was registered on 99 but built on 98 most likely... how i can be sure it will fit?
I'm talking of a 4 door sedan model, EK4, VTI 1.6L DHOC Vtec

Also, anyone have experience with these aftermarket projectors headlights? Quality wise specially, I want to read some feedback of good/bad ones that have been already in use, so far i have found a lot on ebay but they look cheap,

are these any good in quality/price? any good advice on which one should i get?

The 96-98 and the 99-00 headlights are not interchangeable. It is possible that there is a 98 front on your 99, however I don't think someone would "down grade" to a 98 style front. The way to tell if its a 96-98 or a 99-00 style front is on the front bumper. On the 96-98 style there are no visible fog light slots. On the 99-00 style front bumper there are visible fog light slots toward the bottom outer corners of the bumper. If you google pictures of a 00 civic and look at the bumper and then Google a 97 civic you can see the difference and the slot on the 99-00 I'm talking about. These spots dictate wether it is a 96-98 style or 99-00 style.

That is very good info thank you very much!
Mine is definitely a 98 then. As there is no slots for footlights. They go inside the vent slot.
I just double checked and even the VIN says it's a 98 so it was just registered in the country a year later.

Now Leta go and find some good 98 projectors

No problem man, the only aftermarket headlights I can think of are spec-d tuning, they are a cheaper brand but I know they have aftermarket headlights. I just bought a set of fog lights for my 97 civic coupe and they feel like quality pieces but I have yet to put them in, that's my next project haha good luck

Check out inlinefour.com I just bought some projector retrofit gunmetal headlights from them and they look and function amazingly. Don't buy some ugly ebay projector headlights, do it right with a retrofit .

Yes it's a 96-98, you don't need the fog lights unless you want the. I think some gunmetal ctr headlights would make it look even better
