Hey guys, I just bought a 1993 Honda Civic with a swapped D16y7 and a d16y8 head, D16z6 intake manifold, chipped P28ecu, Skunk 2 adjustable cam, Spectre cold air intake, Cobb exhaust(not exactly sure), stage 3 clutch with a 9lb flywheel. It's sitting on adjustable coilovers, slight camber kit, lower control arm(not sure what brand), with a rear disk conversion and steel beaded brake lines.. First off, I'm not so good with cars, I've done some minor things, such as brakes, putting in exhaust systems and aftermarket suspension(as well as a few other minor things) but I've got a friend whose a mechanic and is willing to teach me. Anyways my goal with this car is to keep it as a reliable daily driver but still be able to tear it up when I feel the need So any tips about some mods to gain some hp(not looking to turbo it), or things to look out for as far as mechanical issues with my build, even common wear and tear, would be much appreciated! This has been asked at least once a week.

D-series motors were built for gas mileage. Only thing going to bring real power out of it is boost. Either turbo it or swap in a bigger motor. Unless you want to build the internals which is going to take a fat wallet.

That's kinda what I figured, eventually I want to get a 5 speed accord or prelude, with/swap an h22 in it and slap a turbo on that b***h! This is just going to be my daily driver, i was just hoping I could add a couple more bolt ons to get a little more pep in my step. Thanks for the replys! Best name out there if you ask me lol

Get a B-series swap whether it be b16, LS, or even GS-R. They are a little more difficult to find on craigslist here in Oregon but they are out there if you search hard enough. Either that or save up your pennies to order a swap from hmotorsonline.com. (Definitely swap though if you don't plan to boost).

As far as money goes do you think it's more reasonable just to buy an integra with a B series? And is a civic with a B series much different than an integra with a B series? As far as performance..

It just depends on what you want and what your budget allows for. Personally I hate the look of integras so it's worth it more for me to spend the money on a swap to put it in a civic. Performance as far as B series in an eg, eg's weigh less so you might be able to squeeze more power of the eg with the b series in it.
