D16Y7 Rebuilt Won't Start

I have rebuilt the engine from top to bottom and the whole 9 yards. Yes, I have hooked everything up and put everything where it goes and bolted down to spec. We got a new battery and starter and it won't crank over.

The sound it makes is like click, click, click, nothing for a few mins then click, nothing...

I have no idea what it could be has anybody experienced this problem at all?

well. if its making a click sound, theres power going to the starter.. Just not enough.

Check all your grounds and did you have the battery tested before you bought it?

Sometimes they are bad right off the shelf.

I always have things electrical tested to save me from taking it all apart again and driving back for exchange. Had a bad alt right out of the box and the parts employee was irritated that I had him test it. He was surprised when it was bad out of the box.

Yeah the battery tested good and the grounds I've tightened down twice now

Well my dad and I got it to start for a min today. However when I press the gas as soon as I let off it dies. My dad said that it sounds like it's not getting enough fuel or compression issues
