Wheel bearing retainer?

Hello, I have a 99 Civic Value a Package. I've taken the steering knuckles off in order to press out the wheel bearings. I noticed that neither side had the snap ring retainers. Does the value package come with those retainers or no?

What the hell is "Civic Value a Package"?!? I've never heard of such a thing. Just give the trim line (EX, LX, DX, HX, etc.). Are you aware if the car is all original?

VP as in "Value Package".
Quoting Wikipedia...

" Introduced in 1998 and available as a sedan only, this trim was designed as a “Value Package” above the DX. It included all standard equipment from DX plus automatic transmission, power locks, cd player, air conditioning, keyless entry, and special paint."

Look up a parts diagram for a DX and you'll have your answer.

All wheel bearing should have a snap ring retainer. Otherwise it would probably work its way out after time. I would look up in parts diagram for one.
