Hey everyone. New to the site, not new to Honda's. Current daily is a '12 Si with full bolt on's. I however just picked up a 1993 Coupe EX, MT for dirt cheap. The goal is circuit race, it will be towed to all locations. My last one I had was a 95 DX I swapped a 92 EX 1.6 into and boosted it. I want a proper setup this time and am not overly familiar with the B series and K20 engines. So which option would be a better swap, as in not only financially, but aftermarket support, and ease of replacement. Also where to find a full swap.

Thanks ahead for the suggestions!

Welcome to the forum. Hmotors and Password JDM seem to be popular places for swaps online. Or, you can just look in your local salvage yards. You mentioned you're not too familiar with either engine, so do we assume you're going to have someone else do the swap for you? If so, may want to talk to your mechanic and get their opinion, since they'll be doing the work. If you're going to attempt it yourself, may want to do a LOT of research on your own before you start buying anything. K swaps are getting more common (and I assume cheaper) but the B series was designed to fit your engine bay so would typically be the easier to perform.

There are a lot of factors that go into choosing an engine. What kind of circuit racing are we talking about? Auto-X, track days, competition?

Cost-wise, K's are still more expensive compared to B series engines, but they have gone down over the years. As for getting the engine/trans new, HMO is awesome and has a great reputation. Another is JDMEngineDepot. If you are looking at things off Craigslist, I'd suggest actually going to look at them in person.

I'm very biased, but i'll say K20 or K24 anyway =)

but the above responses are very on point!

Hey there, decided to go with a B18C1. Not familiar building one of these, so the parts and how they work are new to me. I built up my old D series, but that was years ago and forgotten most of the places I sourced parts from. It's going to be circut raced, so not sure how to build the engine yet.

Building an engine for a 1/4 mile drag would be different than building the same engine for 24hr lemons or some other endurance race. I cant help you too much though. What type of tracks will you be racing on? Mostly long open stretches or all tight close turns? Your suspension and tire setup can end up being way more important than your peak hp in a tight track.
