I can't sit at a red light longer than a couple minutes car gets warm then want go will go way over 3000 rpm and I just have to work it up to 5th gear till it hits at least 60 then it's no problem. Just got it out of shop master clutch cylinder slate cylinder both got changed new clutch and transmission. I'm new to this and I'm about to.throw my hands up lol it want do it while its in the shop and of course I'm a female so I have no idea.

you might have a blown head gasket is any smoke coming out of the tall pipe or anywhere else

Oh yeah that was the first thing I got changed. But no it runs like a brand new one besides that issue. Someone mentioned maybe the vacuum lines? It's really weird

Nope nothing lol I changed everthing everyone told me to and still does it.. guess I'm just gonna have to take it to the Honda dealership.

Why did you mention your ex, Manuel? Did he work on your engine?

Red lights dont last that long.
Oh, i was going to go through point by point of what you said but it doesn't make sense. You could mean many different things. Please try describing it again.

Honestly if I could explain it better I would! Car is fine until I sit at a red light couple of minutes or whatever. It will go just doesn't want to shift gears so I literally have to get it into 5 gear after taking off even if it's at 30 or 40 mph. It's hard to explain something when it only does it when it's sits a couple of minutes or the temp outside is above 30 or you go to store turn it off get right back in it.. It sounds like you knocked it out of gear when it happens. I just had the clutch master hydraulic cylinder replaced,the slate cylinder the clutch and the transmission was changed almost 2 years ago..

Only when the temperature gauge reads normal or what do you mean by warm? Is it overheating? If you leave it in neutral how high does it rev? And this is a problem with the engine accelerating on its own right? What does replacing transmission parts have to do with it?

Temperature gauge normal car doesn't run hot. If its in neutral idols right at 1000. I get it into first go to change into second car acts like it's in neutral until you let off the gas and work it to 5th regardless if your at normal speed to.be in 5th gear then it's fine. I was just mentioning everything that's already been replaced.

Sounds like a friction plate in the trans is going out or is out or the synchronizer is bad or even out

OK I will get the guy I take it to check it out besides that it's a really good car. Thank you i try to explain it the best way I know how but unless your in the car when it does it people look at you like your crazy lol. But thank you very much

That all definitely sounds like a transmission issue, being that you have trouble properly engaging the gears. It might even be that your clutch needs adjustment but its very strange that 5th gear functions fine. Did you buy a used or rebuilt transmission? The tranny probably just needs work.

does it grind going into gears at all?

it could also be a bent shift linkage you guys have 2 long rods that run under the body if they're even slightly bent they will effect the shifting ablility by alot

i would say check the shift linkage and all the bushing are good and doesn't have excessive play
