J30A4 into 97 ex??

Hey guys. I was curious on what I'd have to do to swap a J series engine into my 97 civic ex. I know b series are super easy but can't find a lot on a J series. I can't find any b18's in my area or else I'd do that but I found a J30a4 for only $500 I thought that was a very good price so would that be worth it? What would I have to do to get the engine mounted into the engine bay?

You need to search a little harder, there isn't much on writeups (at least for 96-00 civic) but you can look at other writeups and figure it out pretty easily. I believe hasport sells kits to install them but you will still need to fab some stuff up, cut a big ass hole in your hood or have your oil pan practically touching the ground.

The cheap price tag for this motor makes it appealing on the surface, but with everything involved in getting it into the 6th gen Civic chassis, for me is not worth it.
This, V6 swap, is not a common swap, nor is it a swap for someone with little knowledge, time or money.
For the ease of installation and abundance of aftermarket support, why not consider a K swap?

How easy would a K swap be in comparison to a B series and how much power would it give me? I haven't done much research.

You are asking all the wrong questions without even attempting to look for the answers on your own first.

Research the swaps, determine if you have the ability and resources to do it on your own. Also if its our ONLY car don't jump into this project.

The weight difference would bother me way too much. I just feel like it would make the car so front heavy. Look at people trying to swap H's into these, those alone are like 85 pounds heavier than a B18. I'd like to know the specific weight difference between a B18 and a J30.

Fabricating would be an understatement.

That's so overblown, it ridiculous. People have been swapping H series motors into 88-00 Civic chassis SUCCESSFULLY for 20 yrs, without any worries about the 80 lb difference.

Some people are more sensitive to differences in under/oversteer.
