Stains on paint won't wash out

My car sat over the weekend under some trees while it rained. I washed it today and noticed some stains remained and wouldn't rub off.

Not sure the name but little brownish looking stems/leaves from the trees had been sitting where the stains now are. These little buggers

My car (unfortunately) has a single stage paint btw

I've tried some tree sap and tar remover to no avail

Try a clay bar. If that doesn't help then you'll need a super fine polishing compound.

Never used a clay bar. Are they expensive?

Not at all. Grab a Mother's kit and just follow the instructions.

Just make sure to wax the car after you use the clay bar.

If the finish is smooth, the clay wont do anything.

A typical cleaner wax will get it off.

I have the same issues weekly as the trees mess with my white car.

Does a cleaner wax offer protection or needs to be waxed with a sealer type after?

I've used cleaner wax by itself before with no problems.

Meguiars ultimate compound would likely work well for your paint. That stuff is magical.

I can attest to this. A very good friend of mine is a professional car detailer... does Porsche/McLarens for the dealerships a lot. He showed me what Meguiars ultimate can do and it's crazy.

Do I need to apply a wax after using the ultimate compound or it protects as well?

I will say, that cinnamon smelling compound does do wonders. Ive used it myself.


And waxing is going to be your last step for protection.
