b20b obd1 or 2?

Alright so I have a 97 usdm ek sedan I put a high comp. B20b in. I'm trying to figure out what harness and ecu because now rywire is telling me that I need to go obd1 on an obd2 car because the obd2 ecu tries to search for emissions and could make it run like crap....what setup are yall running and what would you advise! I'm stuck

FYI I have a p75-c04 b18b1 ls obd2 ecu

Sorry and it's obd2a I believe it had a d16y7 with an auto trans. Not exactly sure how to tell if it's obd2a or b I'm assuming since it's not a 99-00 it's obd2a

It's easier to use obd-1 with a jumper harness idk where u live but I see the harnesses go for under $40 in cali 96-98 is obd-2a 99-00 is obd-2b get one according to your year


Now there's probably some mods you have to do to the harness it's self depend if it's a ex Dx or hx

Reason why u do wanna run obd-1 is because I obd-1 has less sensors and emissions and also it can be chipped and tuned easier than obd-2
