Clutch issues

I have a 99 Honda Civic CX 5 speed. I just had the clutch replaced but on my way home it was extremely difficult to get it into 1st gear i had to slam the shifter in place. It also shudders and almost stalls when trying to start off from red light. He said something about slave cylinder should be replaced. Any clue?

Mine kept on getting air in the system because a seal was screwed up. So ya sounds about right.

He did replace the front right axle seal and the rear main seal as well. Could they do it

That wouldn't affect the clutch since the actual clutch is working. Just sounds like what @boofoo said

There's a bleeder valve on the slave cylinder. Look on YouTube on how to bleed a clutch slave on a 99 civic. Exactly like bleeding brakes. Just one bleeder not 4

Ya, no kidding. I had the same issue. Even though I knew what the problem was and told him he still told me it was just the clutch. So after I put all my money in a clutch I still had the problem and told him that I knew it was the master and slave cylinders. So he did the work for free. Thankfully

A mechanic like that will cost you alot more in the long run than just going to a certified honda mechanic
