91 crx issue

How's it going guys I'm new to this form I have a 91 CRX I bought it a couple months ago with 165000 Mi it ran perfectly fine and every gear still shifts into every gear perfectly fine it just seems to hit some type of rev limiter when it gets to about 3000 to 3500 RPMs I was hoping that maybe someone here can point me in the right direction

Do you have any check engine lights on?
Pull the carpet up on the passenger side, check the red LED, that is the ECU, if it is throwing a code, you'll have to count and decipher the light pulses.

So I checked the check engine flashes I got one long Flash and 8 short flashes

May want to double check your flashes.
Is the CEL on in the cluster?
Is this an auto or manual car?

I think it's an 8 code I re checked and it is only 8 but why that code all of a sudden

Things go bad and don't last forever?
You'll have to replace the distributor.

Also if you research this stuff, you can find answers.
