Check VSA... Check emmisions

Bought the car a week ago it's been running fine, Last night I took some trash to the dumpster, and came back
(less than a mile drive). Parked and all was good.
Today I replaced weatherstrip on all side windows, while listening to a CD (Rascals)
finishing that, about a half hour later, I got in all set to go for a ride, and the titular warnings blared at me, from the little editing window, and on the dashboard, and I lost power steering. Shut her down and looked for info, but my sources aren't helping any.

It's my first Honda, and "I Know Nothing!!" about Honda's yet!.. (Sorry Sgt Schultz)
I Need some help.
Having just replaced a head in my 2000 Dodge Dakota, and having issues there...
I got the Civic Xe,
I only have it a week, and I don't want to lose it! It's a great little car!!

Has anyone solved a problem like this??? Can anyone help an old man?

Thanks so much, in advance

UPDATE.....
Using a scanner, it pulled 2 codes ( seemingly unrelated)
P0339 crank position sensor
there was never a starting issue... So what's up with that????

and P0128 leaking or stuck open thermostat.
Nothing about vehicle Stability Assist (VSA)

I started the vehicle,(Crank_sensor, must be working!!)
and Power steering assist had returned... VSA light... still on.
Check Emmisions light still lit.
I KNOW NOTHING!!.......STILL !

Sounds like a grounding issues perhaps. I have service manuals for many of the Civic's in my signature below. Check the grounds and ensure all is well. So many issues that seem completely unrelated really points me to a grounding issue.
Ensure your main battery ground has good clean contacts on the battery post and where it bolts to the chassis of the vehicle near the battery box.

Yesterday, after polishing the headlights, I thought I'd start her up...just for giggles and to see if anything had changed...( ie More warning lights...) When Lo and behold!! The dash lights acted as normal! Not a warning light in sight!
So Yes, I'm sure it has to be a grounding issue. Thank You!
You might think CarMax would have checked that... But Such is life!

Should I call you "Maverick" .....cause we have a need for Speed!:redcar:
Aww.... nevermind, you are probably sick of that line by now...

As for manuals, Please pencil me in for a Gen 9, 2013 Civic xe If one should become available.
I'm too old, and poor to go to a dealer

Maverick would be a first.

As for shopping a vehicle, recommend checking Facebook Marketplace. That will list all your local for sale ads from individual owner/sellers.

Appreciate the reply.
Yeah, I don't do Facebook... Left them in the early 10's due to security issues.

i dont blame you, you can easily make a fake account just for shopping the marketplace. Once FBM came out it killed Craigslist.

I'd rather pay an extra dollar, or two, than support the site of
"Oops, we didn't mean to do that again..." and
"we were pressured into cancelling people cause we didn't have the gonads to
say NO! This is America not the CCR!" but now we're sorry!

I have a FB account, that is specifically for accessing marketplace.
Despite all the issues with FB in general, Marketplace is the one thing they have gotten right.
you can see exactly who you're dealing with, and it's fairly easy to identify scammers, just requires a bit of common sense.

Today, I picked up a bumper for my Mustang, for $50
He's in Iowa, i'm in Wisconsin, We met up in Minnesota ( I threw in a little extra since he was willing to drive 2 hours to meet me)...
no way i ever would've coordinated that over craigslist.
