the ride quality difference between 16's and 17's aren't that great and besides that can be made up for by good springs and dampers. a couple of motor enhancements can clean up that performance loss or if you get 17's that are lighter weight than those 16's. clean car, its still too early in the tuning and upgrade stage to say much else, good luck with it
