02 Civic HX VTEC 5 speed swap

I was wondering if I could put any model 7th gen manual transmission into my 02 Civic HX VTEC? Mainly looking for an EX or HX if possible. I plan on rebuilding the trans that's in right now but I need to keep it on the road, plus it will be nice to have another spare. The input shaft bearing is bad on the trans.

You have vtec-e and not vtec which operates differently. Dont make the mistake of thinking theyre the same then making decisions accordingly. Have you tried looking up if your D17A6 is compatible with D17A2 trannys?

Yep! All D17 transmissions are compatible with D17's motors.
